Me, my Shelf, and I is my version of a weekly recap post, and also a feature to tell you more about myself.
ME ... nosedive?
Definition: "to fall from a great height, nose first"
I'm not a clumsy person in general, but I guess that has much to do with me not doing most things that require lots of hand-foot-coordination. If you take the less literal approach, then yes, I do tend to put my foot in my mouth more often than other people around me. I'm honest and I hate tip-toeing around subjects or people, so it happens quite a lot, but I don't mind. I know how to not make a big deal out of it and say sorry, even if I might not mean it.

... had a pretty uneventful week, but with two days that exhausted me. 5-6h translation, then 3h teaching, plus 1h driving around. Just a normal day for any working person, I know, but the people contact and all the stupid drivers thanks to the construction sites wore me out.
... visited my father yesterday, the biological one. He and his new wife live only 5min away now, but we're all busy people. Anyway, they renovated their whole apartment (he's a house painter by trade), and while I don't know how it looked before, I was floored by the after. He did a real number on that one -- he so knows what he's doing. I totally got all his practical genes! My parents were there, too, and family friends I know since childhood, and while we talked and joked, I was reminded that I got my whole character from him, but my mom's looks, and it makes me think about the classical nature vs nurture debate...
