The Weight of Feathers
by Anna-Marie McLemore
Expected Publication: September 15, 2015
For twenty years, the Palomas and the Corbeaus have been rivals and enemies, locked in an escalating feud for over a generation. Both families make their living as traveling performers in competing shows—the Palomas swimming in mermaid exhibitions, the Corbeaus, former tightrope walkers, performing in the tallest trees they can find.
Lace Paloma may be new to her family’s show, but she knows as well as anyone that the Corbeaus are pure magia negra, black magic from the devil himself. Simply touching one could mean death, and she's been taught from birth to keep away. But when disaster strikes the small town where both families are performing, it’s a Corbeau boy, Cluck, who saves Lace’s life. And his touch immerses her in the world of the Corbeaus, where falling for him could turn his own family against him, and one misstep can be just as dangerous on the ground as it is in the trees.
Why I am waiting on this? Romeo and Juliet as performers -- nice! I really love the title, and I can imagine this as cute and suspenseful.
Me, my Shelf, and I is my version of a recap post,
and also a feature to tell you more about myself.
Definition: "entailing great expense, as from choice materials, fine work; costly; luxuriously fine or large; lavish"
I'm okay with cheap clothes, shoes, etc and everything being average. The only thing a bit more expensive about me is my hair, coz I'm dying. Red right now, but usually a dark brown. That's costly with my thick hair, but my one luxury pleasure. Aside from books, of course. ^^

Aug 2: Me, my Shelf, and I
... was a little miffed that I had to start my vacation a day late, because my car is still not fixed, but then I enjoyed the sun on Alesha's balcony. For the summer festival, I met some old room mates and friends who are now getting done with their master degrees, and I enjoyed to learn what they are doing with their lives now. Some things are changing so much... which just makes it all the better to get back in touch. It was an awesome week! Way too short, of course, but I had a lot of fun. =) Plus, I got LOADS of reading done 😉 and am now on a roll. Feels amazeballs!
