Booking Through Thursday is a weekly bookish meme about (mostly) books and reading.
Vacation:
When you travel, do you bring one book with you? Or a pile of them? Or do you use an e-reader to help carry the load?
(Because, even if you prefer paper, it can get heavy when you’re traveling!)
Before I had an e-reader, I always travelled with two or three books. I tried to pick paperbacks, because of the weight, but sometimes it just had to be a hardcover, because I was reading on a series at the moment, or something. My older sister was the same, and my parents also each had a book with them, so that never came up in an argument or anything.
Now what I have my Kindle, I usually just pack that, because it's convenient in weight and selection, even if it means leaving a print book I'm currently reading behind. I especially like that I no longer have to pick out what to read beforehand, because I have so many books stored on my Kindle. Moody reader that I am, now I can just open and start reading whatever it is a I want in that moment, on the beach or in the hotel. However, I kinda miss finding sand in between my pages, and a print book is a lot better to sleep on, coz the e-reader is so thin. x)
I bring both along.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who falls asleep on my books! Sadly, the iPad wins for traveling for me too. Besides finding sand between my pages I also kind of miss unpacking books that smell like suntan lotion!

I'm not falling asleep while reading, I actually use my print books, with a shirt or towel on top, as a pillow on purpose.
I'm with you, I prefer my e-reader for travel. Then I can change my mind about what I want to read next.
