Rogue Chronicles Entry No. 54
Wow, I can't believe this is over and done with. This last installment basically reduced everything we deemed awesome and magical about the series to ash. Well, there was the part about the Tree of Life, which was new and important and all, but the ethically, morally rightness of this ending really made all the delicious magic we have discovered so far into something shameful and unorthodox; the mere memory makes me cringe.
Although I have to say, it was a well thought out ending for it all, it just was so not to my tastes. It was one conclusion to a long journey, and literally as well as figuratively one more mountain to climb before you would reach the very peak -- or find you way back to the bottom, however you want to look at this. It's very contradictory overall, and so I had realy trouble rating this. I wanted to give it more stars since it was way better than the beginning of the series, the style more fluent and the story was on a whole other level, but then I thought about it further, about the message it's to convey, the lesson. And that, well, wasn't satisfactory at all, so here we are.
Sad but true, this isn't at all as I imagined it would be, and it kinda... well, it's ruined. If I had known this was in store for the last installment, I would've stopped with the fifth book and be very happy right now. *le sigh*
