Booking Through Thursday is a weekly bookish meme about (mostly) books and reading.
I'm not so much the funny reader, but I have two things that got recommended to me, and they're laughing-your-ass-off hilarious.
First, The 13 1/2 lives of Captain Blue Bear by Walter Moers, which are basically childrens books just as Captain Blue Bear became a popular kids figure, like Ernie and Bert. Author Walter Moers lives totally in his own world, otherwise he could never come up with such complex nonsense. His characters are mostly ridiculously funny, as is his writing style, but the world in itself is pretty complex and holds your attention. For me, it's too much info at once sometimes. This book about Blue Bear was the first I read, and the best. There are more stories from his world Zamonien, which I didn't find that enjoyable so far.
Second, and way more importantly!, the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Just thinking about Steph and the messes she's always in has me cracking up. Seriously, those reads have everything you could wish for. Funny, very special characters, interesting plot lines, a bit blood and action, romance that makes you either swoon or smile or both, and also a lot of running gags, and beating on typical American cliches. I LOVE this series to death, I read many of the books three times already, and I'm always looking forward to the next installment. I would recommend those to any adult woman! Without Stephanie, you're missing out on something in your life. 😉
That's it from me for April fools, please consider picking up Evanovich's books, they're all worth it! And link me up to your answer. =)

I haven't read either of those books but they sound interesting. I might have to check the Stephanie Plum series out.
