My Review:

I really love this series, after a while a little less for the characters but more for the plot twists. Yes, I think the plot is getting better, slightly, but the characters are not developing soo much. Granted, there is not that much time covered in the novels, but due to the grave changings around them, the characters should change along with them accordingly. Anyway, I like how Cassandra Clare wrapped up the first three books and now starts kinda new with this one, but it has still a connection to the first books. It doesn't feel forced into place just so she might still use the same characters, it's a really good sequel. Plotwise, I enjoyed it best from all the books til now, it had build up the tension very well until it spit up the right amount of background information so that every piece of the puzzle would fall into place. I really like how she uses good, old fantasy material and carves it into the right forms so it'll fit into her novels.
