When unworldly student Anastasia Steele first encountered the driven and dazzling young entrepreneur Christian Grey it sparked a sensual affair that changed both of their lives irrevocably. Shocked, intrigued, and, ultimately, repelled by Christian's singular erotic tastes, Ana demands a deeper commitment. Determined to keep her, Christian agrees.
Now, Ana and Christian have it all—love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of possibilities for their future. But Ana knows that loving her Fifty Shades will not be easy, and that being together will pose challenges that neither of them would anticipate. Ana must somehow learn to share Christian's opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own identity. And Christian must overcome his compulsion to control as he wrestles with the demons of a tormented past.
Just when it seems that their strength together will eclipse any obstacle, misfortune, malice, and fate conspire to make Ana's deepest fears turn to reality.
Rogue Chronicles Entry No. 97
I really, really couldn't see how everyone was bitching that this last installment didn't fit the other two. It did for me. It was the same mix of plot and sex, an emotional rollercoaster ride, generally rather flat, but pleasant.
There was some character development, continuing on from book one, but not so much as others put in a story of the same time frame. And since the characters didn't quite got out of their skin, I by now expected some harsher sex practices -- but was disappointed again. This story has floated on and on, while the only thing really happening was the plot frame that got them together, apart, back together, struggling, loving. Yes, I did miss a big change as I would expect it in a real book.
Sadly, this STILL read like a fanfic, but now even the smut wasn't so much to go for anymore. So, yes, maybe it does fall out with the first two, if you really break it down. But it really didn't feel that way while you were inside the story, reading along. That only comes with later thoughts. The feel was really still the same.
