Rylie's been bitten.
She's changing.
And now she has three months to find a cure before becoming a werewolf... forever.

Rylie Gresham hates everything about summer camp: the food, the fresh air, the dumb activities, and the other girls in her cabin. But the worst part is probably being bitten by a werewolf. Being a teenager is hard enough, but now she's craving raw flesh and struggles with uncontrollable anger. If she doesn't figure out a way to stop the transformation, then at the end of summer, her life is worse than over. She'll be a monster.

HEE Summary:

At first, Rylie does not want to go to summer camp just because her parents are getting divorced, because she's a city girl. She likes art, museums, coffee shops, and hanging out with her guy friends. But after being bitten, she comes to love nature like the wolf inside her of loves it.

In the beginning, Rylie has help from a boy named Seth, who brakes into the counselor's office with her to retrieve legends about the werewolves of this Gray Mountain. He also helps her when she changes during her first moons. In Reine's mythology, the werewolves changed during the full moon as well as the new moon, and there are six moons before the newly bitten is a full-fledged werewolf. If the bitten can stop the change from happening by sheer force of will on the last, the sixth, moon, they will stay human.

During one of her first shifts, Rylie who is actually a vegetarian by conviction, kills a deer to satisfy her hunger. On a later moon, she believes to have killed one of the camper girls who harrassed her in the beginning, Amber, but it was acutally one of the other two werewolves. Being called freak, Rylie only has two real friends: Cassidy, from another group, and Seth. However, they both turn out different than they appear, as Seth is actually a werewolf hunter instead of just another boy from the camp across the lake, and Cassidy is the second werewolf.

Somewhere between all the chaos, Rylie has to go back to the city for her father's funeral. He suffered a heart attack. She mourns him horribly, because he was also her best friend. He managed to get the family business and the house in the divorce, and left all of it to his daughter, so now she's rather rich. Rylie is not on good terms with her mother, and the city no longer feels comfortable, so she has nothing to go back to after the summer.

On the sixth moon, as Rylie struggles to stay human, Seth comes back to help stop the werewolves who are now attacking the camp in an attempt to create sevreal new wolves by biting everything they can get their fangs in. He also kisses Rylie, which is basically all the confession we're going to get out of the badass hunter, after he turned her down weeks before, knowing he might have to kill her eventually. While Seth goes after the alpha wolf, Jericho, Rylie fights Cassidy in her wolf form. She is saved by Seth, who kills the smaller werewolf with a silver bullet. Shortly distracted, Jericho strikes him unconcious, and drags him off. Rylie can only help im if she chooses to turn, but then she could never be fully human again. She struggles with herself, but finally decides that she can't let Seth die, even if he chose to kill her later on.

On top of the mountain, Rylie, a beautiful golden wolf, fights Jericho and eventually kills him. As Seth points his rifle at her, he cannot shoot her, but the gesture makes her leave. Seth cannot be sure if she survived her injuries. As he leaves the mountain behind to go back to his family, he finds her diary and keeps it. As he revves the motorcycle, a low wolf howl is drowed out.
