In Her Shoes is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Vanya at YA Story Teller. To participate, simply put yourself in the shoes of a heroine you've recently read about, and then tell what you thought of her, what you would do in her stead, or what you've learned from her.
A fine specimen, er, woman, of course. Yes, as amazing as Bennett was phisically -- and on all other accounts -- as amazing was his match, Chloe.
That woman really had it in her. She was smart, lovely, hard-working, and wouldn't let anyone look down on or pick on her, especially not her oh-so-perfect boss. Nope, she was snarky, bitchy, and badass daring -- all in the most perfect way. She could take just as much as she delt, had a very strong-willed personality combined with a big heart for misfits and bastards. The way she took on life was head on and stubborn. She was a real fighter for what she wanted, and she knew her limits. She drew a line, and made sure to hop off before she could come too far across it.
At first, I thought she was just your usual swoony-over-your-hot-boss, but noooo. Far off. She really took him on, and due to the changing PoV it was clear they affected each other excatly the same. It didn't feel one-sided at all, which made her only appear even stronger, having such power over a man like Bennett. And sweet thing that she was, she would only use it against him on legal grounds, and I loved her for that too.
Link up and let me know whose shoes you stepped into this week! =)
