In Her Shoes is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Vanya at YA Story Teller. To participate, simply put yourself in the shoes of a heroine you've recently read about, and then tell what you would do in her stead, or what you've learned from her.
Featuring this week:
Cassie from ICE
Cassie grew up and lives in the Arctic, and although she's not Inuit in blood, she definitively is in regard to survival instincts. In addition to her strong instincts, she's also very rational and calm for the most part - a true explorer and researcher. As that, she is perfectly stubborn and has a bit of a closed mindset, but that solves itself during the story - mostly because she has such a big heart -, and her analytical mind actually helps supporting the paranormal part. She really knows her stuff and puts it to use. She's also a very determined person - and that gets her into trouble way over her head. Well, at least for as long as her mind isn't set on taking on the challenge. Because this girl knows exactly what she wants, and she works herself to her bones in order to achieve her goals, not hesitating to take high risks or personal sacrifices, and absolutelly unwilling to give up on what she stared. Although she seems quite naive at some points, it helps to really appericiate her development into a better, even stronger person during the story. And all of that without the slightest of special ability or the like in herself - just with her willpower. Just how awesome is that?!
