Rogue Chronicles Entry No. 122
After finishing with Lover Eternal, I really looked forward to this and hoped for so much for Zsadist and Bella. And, o goodness, yes, did I get that I hoped for and more! I laughed and felt butterflys, I got angry, scared, shocked, and I totally cried at the end. This had just so much drama, so many misunderstandings, it just broke. My. Heart. Z is such a sweetheart deep down! And I believe that Bella is indeed the perfect match for him, both strict and gentle, but most of all open-minded. Yes, I do feel sorry for Phury, but not so much, since I am perfectly certain there will be a perfect match for him as well!
With Lover Awakened, I got the feeling for the first time that the Black Dagger Brotherhood are rather bittersweet stories. It wasn't so prominent in the first book, got a bit more so at the end of book two, but with this.. it has really sunk in with me. And although I initially loved those books for their humor, now I crave this bittersweetness. I miss the humor a bit, I believe there is still room for more, like there was in book one, but I feel overall more drawn into it all.
I love all the characters by now. I wasn't so fond of Phury before, but this look into his psyche really did it for me, and now I'm dying to know his story, too. I missed Wrath and Beth a bit in this, but you can't always get all the characters in, so I guess it's okay. Rhevenge as a new person of interest should also prove to have a thrilling story. I can practically smell all the problems, the bad reputation, etc. And I really liked John. Gosh, I am so sorry he has been left behind again. This is just so harsh! Yes, it's not just the brothers who are already in the Brotherhood, but also those in training which I am very interested in. I so want to find out more about how all his relationships to the other brothers, but also to his sister and the other women will develop. And I want to know what kind of woman he will be paired with at the end.
Lots and lots of new developments to branch off, to tell their own story, and then find their way back to the center knot. Love this series, no two ways about it!
