Summary: Facts checker Sophie Hall from New York travels to Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, expecting a few weeks of romance with her fiancé Victor. But since he's a chef, he is so engrosed in him finding supliers for his restaurant, Sophie goes sightseeing on her own. When she visits the House of Juliet, she meets her 'secretaries' -- four women who answer the desperate letters that women from all over the world write to Juliet and place them on the wall beneath the balcony every day. Accidently, Sophie discovers a letter hidden inside the wall fifty years ago - and answers it as Juliet. Claire, the woman it belonged to, receives it and returnes to Verona together with her grandson Charlie. Together, the three go on a quest to find Claire's long lost love Lorenzo Bartolini, and the countries works it's magic...
Very nice movie! Instead of doing the Romeo + Juliet thing all over again, the story was just used for the set up and some cute impliments. I liked the music and the scenery, makes you want to travel to Italy at once. Furthermore, it was very nicely balanced with happy and unhappy parts, dama and humor. Plus, the actors did really great. It was nothing that got you off your feet or made you cry, it was too predictable for that, but I'd still recommend it. Surely a nice way to waste some time. 😉
