Heavyweight fighter Denver Lewis plays real nice, but he doesn't share. That's why he's been avoiding top-notch flirt Cherry Peyton. But a man can only resist those lush curves for so long. Their encounter surpasses all his fantasies, bringing out protective urges that Cherry's about to need more than she knows…
Denver's combination of pure muscle and unexpected tenderness has been driving Cherry wild. Yet no sooner does she get what she's been craving than old troubles show up on her doorstep. And this time, Cherry can't hide behind a carefree facade. Because the man by her side is one who'll fight like hell to keep her safe…if only she'll trust him enough to let him…

Why I picked this story up:
Lori Foster. MMA fighters. 'Nough said.
What I found:
Sadly, Denver and Cherry didn't rock me. From the summary, I had high hopes, but the combo turned out not really for me. They were all cute, no snark, no teasing. Thus, a little less sexy in my opinion as well.
Cherry wasn't really a flirt, that was just Denver's jealousy and thick-headedness. I loved her background story with all the trouble, but while it was supposed to make her relatively tough, she was just sticking her head in the sand the same annoying way Yvette did in No Limits. URGH! If Denver hadn't needed to shoulder his way in, a lot of pain could've been avoided. But nooooo.
Denver, on the other hand, you can't help but love. I personally like me some bad boy, but while he was all awesome muscles, athlete smart, charming as they come, and possessive in just the right ways, he gave me more a mama bear vipe instead of the alpha male. Not necessarily a bad thing, the Robin Hood kinda puppy works just fine! Especially with the trouble he had in tow, hot dress and all. It really was something not too chewed out by the genre yet.
So I was interested in the plot, but couldn't really hit it off with the main characters. The sidekicks though, that's a whole other story. Both Stack and Armie got whole chapters from their PoV's, and I absolutely loved them! They made me so excited for Tough Love and Fighting Dirty, I was squealing and am already imagining the hottest and most conflicting things! Plus, they tied the series really close together, more than I was used to so far, and I like that too.
