Me, my Shelf, and I is my version of a weekly recap post, and also a feature to tell you more about myself.
ME ... gapeseed?
Definition: "a person who gapes or stares in wonder, especially a rustic or unworldly person who is easily awed"
Funny word, haha. No, I don't think so. Travelling to far away places at a young age because my parents could affort it, I've seen many things already, and have lost my appetite for monuments and the like. I used to like the view, but hated the history, got bored easily. Now, churches basically look all the same to me, they are all such amazing achievements of architecture at that time, blaaa... Sadly, that infected my appreaciation of beautiful scenery as well, to an extend I don't like. Staring at something wide open which could be beautiful... can only hold my attention for a minute or so.
I have no desire whatsoever for cultural trips anymore -- except to Egypt. I love this place, its history, and this can still ensnare me with its beauty and wonder. Other than that, please put me on a beach somewhere, books and drinks and a dip in the ocean here and there, and I'm perfectly happy.

I went to a barcamp the previous weekend, that's why there was no recap post. It was the first translator's barcamp, and my first barcamp in general. It was amazing! I met other translator's for the first time, and while none of them worked in literature like I do, it was still interesting and fun to get to know them and their work environment. I made a bunch of new friends, but I also learned a few new things. We had lots of fun, with and without alcohol influence. 😉
