Lead roles: Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried, Henry Thomas, Richard Jenkins
Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks.
Summary: John Tyree is a young soldier, and while on leave meets the college student Savannah who's on spring break. In the two weeks they get to know each other, they fall in love and decide to exchange letters because John has to go back on duty. Although he promises to leave the army after his obligatory time, the terrorist attacks on 9/11 make him re-enlist...
Another nice Amanda Seyfried movie! I first didn't recognize Channing Tantum with all the hair, lol, but I think he's a good actor, too. As a pair... well, it was good enough, they do compliment each other. Although the plot was predictable in its ways, the means were still quite interesting and nicely done, you really get the feeling of a Sparks novel/movie. I haven't read Dear John in particular (but I think I might do that if I can borrow it somewhere), but I know Nicholas Sparks well enough to notice, so I think fans and tag-alongs can enjoy it alike.
