Rogue Chronicles Entry No. 102
Since finishing Destined, I was very curious about Lenobia's story. What would make her push away Travis, although they are so clearly drawn to each other?
So I dove into a story of a girl who is ripped out of the life she knows, sent into unknown land and unknown company, to be married to a stranger and somehow start over. As times have been then, it wasn't such a surprise to see the conspiracy behind the actions taken, the layers of lies and opportunities, but it still hurts somewhat, although it was probably the best for Lenobia to leave. It was so painful to read how she had to hide herself for several reasons, and so bittersweet to have her meet Martin and how they slowly fall in love with each other over their love for horses. Fate surely is a strange thing.
Especially when just as Lenobia's life is in real danger from the evil bishop on board, a man of dark magic and a hunger for young women and death, not just Martin comes to her aid despite everything he could lose, but she is also marked as a fledgling by a tracker. However, as Martin meets his very brutal, dramatic end, it becomes more than clear why Lenobia acts the way she does around Travis in Destined.
However, I am pretty sure my suspicions -- as are of many other fans of the series -- are right, and Travis is Martin reborn -- finally. Finally, he came back to his love. And I'm sure that Lenobia will somehow figure it out, and there will be a happy ending for those two this time around.
