Rogue Chronicles Entry No. 32

I liked the pace in this one very much, and the story was about as good as the first. The missing Encyclopedia Magicka that corrupted the demon from the Underground and poisons the vampires is very good, not doubt about it. It was pretty much as mysterious as the first installment, but a little something was missing. It just didn't grip me.

I was wtf shocked as I read over the first Val-Dan encounter in this one. I thought I had to rip his head of, I really wanted to. I like Dan very much, so this immature behavior was such a no-go, yet he pulled it off. I hope for him he'll come around, because I think he'd be a good match for Val, even if it only stays in the friends department. But that new girl in the task force, Nicole or something. Oh, she's a kill, I swear. She struck me as just as immature as Dan acted, and I'd love to see her stripped off her attitude.

But Val and Shade! Oh that shadow demon doesn't only have the looks of an angel, he has the heart of one too. He's so sweet, there are no words for it. He's accepting Lola even before Val does, and of course that makes him pretty much perfect. He's considerate, too. BUT! I'm not so sure if that actually makes him a good match for Val. Of course, like this it's all sunshine for Val who was always so troubled in life before, but, you know... I'm just not so sure that's not gonna end in a huge mess of broken hearts.

Now let me tell you, the trouble for poor Valentine doesn't let off. I was surprised to see her pushed into the buffer position between vampires and demons, not that she really wanted all that attention and power. I really thought it made her grow alot in this, just like she had to grow in the first installment. She's an amazing character, kudos to Parker Blue just for coming up with her in all her different aspects, moods, states of mind, etc. Valentine is the perfect name for her.
