Area Info

Shayna and her two best friends have the abilities to manipulate and control the four elements, earth, air, water and fire. While learning to hone their growing powers, they discover a new and malicious presence in their sleepy beach town. Someone is performing blood magic and threatens to expose their small magical community. So far only small animals have been slaughtered, but then the nightmares start.
Shayna suffers nightmares of being chased and sacrificed only to wake up bloodied and bruised. She thinks her magical blood is the ultimate target for the final blood rite. When an innocent girl, Tracy, is kidnapped Shayna knows it's only a ploy to draw her out--but she can't let someone die because of her.

Rogue Chronicles Entry No. 44

From the beginning, you get the feeling that Shanya, Jodi and Steven were very close friends, sharing magic and all. Thus, I was very confused when she didn't tell them about her nightmares, especially since she suspected it was connected to her magic blood. I understand that they kept what was going on inside their community, the black blood magic they felt threatening them, to themselves since non-magic people would not understand and judge them crazy. But that Shanya hid those nightmares? A stupid thing to do that only made matters worse. I think if she'd told, they might've been able to move on the black magicians earlier.

Now, the rest of the plot! I thought it was such a sweet thing to do that love spell for Tracey. Although they should've been more sceptical when it worked so fast. But they had other things on their minds, so it was okay they didn't add two and two together properly. The new twin brothers (I love twins!) in town were such hotties, too. I wouldn't have suspected, either, although it is said that twins ususally are totally alike on the surface, and like night and day underneath. Maybe that's what I love about twins so much. Too bad it had to end this way. *sigh* You can't always save everybody, and although I think it was a shame and waste, I also think it was the right twist to happen. Looking forward to find out how they will continue on now.
