Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.
Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment: Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.
Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector… and uncover emotions deeply buried.
Rogue Chronicles Entry No. 63
Concept: Soul Collectors from Hell vs Liberators from Heaven mark souls so there'll be easy transfer once they die. That's a new take on the ususal angel/demon stuff. Liked it very much.
Characters: Dante wasn't all I thought he would be. His badassness didn't seem natural at all, that's why it also felt fake that it crumbled. However, he still had his cute points and of course the sexy looks.
Charlie was... almost perfect. A heart of gold, the "loser friends", everything. That she was pretty at the end gives a big plus, of course. Although I have to say she was a bit annoying me at the beggingin, had to get used to her a little. However, now I'm totally looking forward to more from her.
And I totally LOVED Valery and Max. Curious how this is going to work out, if at all.
Plot: Charlie jumped full onto Dante's charm, signed a develish contract with him, and wished herself pretty for him to be able to collect her soul in time. In the process, Dante fell in love with her, and tried to safe her from Boss Man at the end.
Overall: I think the tone and the background in this as well as the big take on friendship and the ending were the best parts.

Dante Walker:
#1 The Collector | #2 The Liberator | #3 The Warrior
I like that your review is positive but realistic! There was such a huge hype about this book that I was really intimidated. People went nuts over the cover of book 2 before book 1 was even out o.O Anyway, I got the ebook recently and I feel more relaxed going into it now. I was also concerned about how 'real' Dante would seem to me. And the fact that you enjoyed the book despite doubting his badassery kind of calms me on that point, no matter how I'll eventually experience his character. Does that make sense?
Anyway, I'm also glad friendship is such a big part of the story 🙂
Thanks for your review! Love the villain rating, hehe ^^

Glad I could calm your nerves a bit -- I admit I got halfway swept up in the hype as well. But I don't do hype, so... but it got my expectations up. The book trailer and the summary aren't really reflecting the book, though. Anyway, I hope you'll also find it realistic yet okay. ^^
Great review! I thought this was a fun read. I clicked with Valery and Max early on, so liked how it turned out.
