Title: This Is Not A Test
Author: Courtney Summers
Language: English
Publisher: Griffin
Format: Paperback
Expected Publication: July 9, 2012
Summary:
It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self.
To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up. As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live.
But as the days crawl by, the motivations for survival change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life—and death—inside.
When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?
Why I am lurking on this: Hello? I've watched The Walking Dead TV series ('coz of Norman Reedus, in case anyone cares) and High School of the Dead anime, and I loved both although I'm not so into the zombie-yuck stuff, but I survived those very ugly visiual versions, so reading about them won't be that bad. I'm always totally fascinated what is going though peoples heads when faced with apocalypse, death, and something trying to bite them.
I JUST read this and found it to be really fantastic. Courtney Summers really knows how to pack in the emotion -- PLUS, ZOMBIES! I hope you love it!

I'm a bit of baby when it comes to the zombie genre. They give me the heebie jeebies, xD. I have not read a zombie book either. Got to say, this looks really good, though. Also like the cover. Thanks for sharing & for stopping by my post, Caro! *hugs* and Happy Wednesday, doll 🙂

I'm not really waiting on this book, since it's a zombie book and I kinda stray away from them..
Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

That cover is strangely beautiful. I read a friend of mines zombie stories, but I have yet to read a published book I about them. I think it could be because I'm a chicken or just that when I read my friends it's all about editing and not focusing on the scary parts.

I'm not too sure how I feel about this one. I've seen a few reviews for it, some good some bad. I'll be interested to see what you make of it when you get to it 🙂

I'm probably the single person on this planet who has NOT loved This Is Not A Test! I read it a while back, since I got a copy of it on NetGalley, and just did not love it like everyone else seems to! But don't worry, I'm sure you'll love it, because I'm pretty much in the minority about this book. 😉
I hope you end up loving this one! <3
