"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title: Wild Awake
Author: Hilary T. Smith
Language: English
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Expected Publication: May 28, 2013
Summary:
Things you earnestly believe will happen while your parents are away:
1. You will remember to water the azaleas.
2. You will take detailed, accurate messages.
3. You will call your older brother, Denny, if even the slightest thing goes wrong.
4. You and your best friend/bandmate Lukas will win Battle of the Bands.
5. Amid the thrill of victory, Lukas will finally realize you are the girl of his dreams.
Things that actually happen:
1. A stranger calls who says he knew your sister.
2. He says he has her stuff.
3. What stuff? Her stuff.
4. You tell him your parents won’t be able to—
5. Sukey died five years ago; can’t he—
6. You pick up a pen.
7. You scribble down the address.
8. You get on your bike and go.
9. Things . . . get a little crazy after that.*
*also, you fall in love, but not with Lukas.
Both exhilarating and wrenching, Hilary T. Smith’s debut novel captures the messy glory of being alive, as seventeen-year-old Kiri Byrd discovers love, loss, chaos, and murder woven into a summer of music, madness, piercing heartbreak, and intoxicating joy.
Why I am lurking on this: I've seen very contradicting ratings on this one so far, but just the summary won't let go of me. All the possibilities! I need to know, or my head might explode making things up.

Title: Gameboard of the Gods
Series: Age of X 1
Authors: Richelle Mead
Language: English
Publisher: Dutton Adult
Expected Publication: June 4, 2013
Summary:
In a futuristic world nearly destroyed by religious extremists, Justin March lives in exile after failing in his job as an investigator of religious groups and supernatural claims. But Justin is given a second chance when Mae Koskinen comes to bring him back to the Republic of United North America (RUNA). Raised in an aristocratic caste, Mae is now a member of the military’s most elite and terrifying tier, a soldier with enhanced reflexes and skills.
When Justin and Mae are assigned to work together to solve a string of ritualistic murders, they soon realize that their discoveries have exposed them to terrible danger. As their investigation races forward, unknown enemies and powers greater than they can imagine are gathering in the shadows, ready to reclaim the world in which humans are merely game pieces on their board.
Why I am lurking on this: Although I'm feeling a little fat up with the dystopia genre at the moment, I still wouldn't pass this up for a later read. It sounds like a good combination of stuff I love, AND Mead's Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series ARE favortives of many and have been recommended to me. So, why not starting on this new series, right?
I've not heard of Wide Awake, but I'm dying to start Gameboard of the Gods! I love Mead 🙂

I'm curious about Wild Awake for the same reasons you are - so many very conflicting reviews! But that blurb sounds really good.
I've heard so much about Gameboard of the Gods - but I haven't read Mead's VA series either. Still, this new one sounds great.
