"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title: Panic
Author: Lauren Oliver

Language: English
Publisher: HarperCollins
Expected Publication: March 4, 2014

Summary:

Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.
Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.
Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn't know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.
For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.

Why I am looking forward to this: Panic as a game... sounds pretty hardcore, and we all know what teenagers are capable of doing to each other, so... I'm game!

    1. When I read you had an ARC right now, I jumped over the Netgalley and checked... and there it was! I requested The Hunt, and I hope to get it since I remembered I already got the ARC for The Rules from there as well. *crosses fingers* Basically, a total misunderstanding, but hey, if it works!

  1. I am so torn about whether or not I want to read this one. On the one hand, it sounds super intriguing, on the other I'm somehow just unsure. It's like I hear a faint warning bell. It's downloadable without request on edelweiss but I haven't done it. Then again, I've never read anything by Lauren Oliver before. Gah I just dunno >.< But I hope you enjoyed it when you get a hold of it!
    Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  2. I have an ARC of this one but I'm waiting to read it until a few weeks before the release date. I'm really excited, though! It sounds so good.

Thanks for dropping by my WoW! 😀
